DEALING WITH THE CORONA CRISIS

How the Dutchesses deal with the Corona crisis

It is terrible to see what is happening in the world right now.

The Atlantic Dutchesses stand from the sideline looking at what is happening around us with disbelief. So many questions that are going through our heads.

How will this all work out? Our courses, events, courses in the UK, financially. But apart from that, the most important thing is to get this under control all together all over the world!

At this point, we can only wait and follow the rules to keep the virus under control. Melissa has decided to stay in the Netherlands in the coming weeks and not in Spain. She normally wouldn’t do this, but the loneliness due to the strict measures in Spain hit her hard.  Melissa is very happy that she can stay in the Netherlands and gets all the support from her friends, colleagues and employer (Hypotienda). She hopes that she can return soon because she lost her heart to Spain😊 Her thoughts are there because remember that there is a total lockdown and here in the Netherlands we deal with different regulations.

Iris received her with open arms and the positive thing is that they can do a lot together for AD at home. It is also difficult for Iris, because she is self-employed and now she misses her income. Melanie and her colleagues are working hard and Renate sees her job change from giving presentations to cancelling all activities for the coming period.

Staying home most of the time means training at home and we are so lucky that we all have the RP3 rowing machines. Everyone has their preference but with a good combination of running, cycling, rowing, core and strength training we can manage this. Before the regulations became a lot stricter in the country, we took our Queen to the Ketelhaven where she can stay for a while in the Marina where she is well looked after. Of course we took her for a spin, wind blowing hard but woohoo how we enjoyed it!

Our dream is still to start in la Gomera end of this year and we can do nothing else than have our focus there. Time will tell if this is possible for us.

In meantime our thoughts are with those who suffer most from the Corona virus in any way.

We would like to let everyone know that we are very grateful. All men and women, everywhere in the world who work so hard to control this virus. THANK YOU!

Lots of love

The Atlantic Dutchesses; Iris, Melanie, Melissa and Renate
