WELCOME ON BOARD

Eat-sleep-row – repeat, that is what they say about the Atlantic crossing. The very thought about it makes us long to the start of the race and lead that very organized life. The preparations are more like: eat-phonecalls-administration-row a bit-more arrangements-sleep a bit-call a sponsor-row another bit – repeat. Oh shit we have jobs too!

But good things happen, all the time and we are very fortunate to let you know we have more sponsors on board! Grateful for the fact that they believe in us and proud to row with their logos on the hull of our Queen of Hearts.

Evil Eye on our noses, the best sunglasses we can imagine! The specific red colour of these terrific shades will be seen on lots of our pix we send out.

Very proud too with our superb Quatix 6 watches and other gear Garmin provides us with, like the GPS map 86 for satellite communication and the charts we need. Their outright support is heartwarming. We can keep track of our training before the race and of course, keep on course during the race!

Furthermore, Maritinus Offshore Consultancy is on board. Great supporter that gives us the chance to purchase the seats, thrones almost, Kay Stevens produced. Our partners needn’t worry about our bums 😉

The House of Nutrition helps us with the calorie&food plan. They think about things we don’t, and see to the fact that we get all the nutrients needed. It’s a challenge to set up a perfect plan, knowing that you can never get enough what you really need in such a demanding and challenging race.

There’s certainly more (financial) support we get, very happy with every pennie and every bit of attention we can get for the Vrouwenhart, Womens’ Heart, the charity that we support with our participation. Too many to name everyone but we carry all of you in our hearts, now and during the 3000 miles on the Ocean.

Apart from our jobs we do spend time on our boat on a regular basis. So yes, we train, and row, and train, and eat our oats and bars and still try all kinds of snacks. We talk things through, read and listen to other rowers experiences, row a bit, sleep a bit and that is basically what our lives are at the moment (oh yes, a job too).

End of July we organized a very successful open day in the Ketelhaven. It was so much fun, we organize another one! This time in Zeeland, the province where two of our rowers were born and raised. We look forward to meeting more people and tell the tale of our great adventure and the Womens’ Heart.

Save the date: Saturday August 29. You are invited to visit us and our beautiful Queen in Kortgene, camping de Paardekreek. Come for a visit and a chat between 2 and 6 pm. The address is Havenweg 1, Kortgene (Zeeland).
